Monic has worked in the education field for the past twenty years as a teacher, consultant and university course lecturer. She has a Master’s in Curriculum Studies (2025), has specialized in reading instruction and intervention and was recently certified as a Dyslexia Coach.
Her unwavering interest in reading instruction and intervention stems from a family history of reading difficulties, and she is grateful that her knowledge allows her to better support her own children with their dyslexia and ADHD. She loves to meet with individuals to help them understand their strengths and difficulties with reading and to help them overcome challenges.
Monic lives in Laval with her two children and their cat, Cali. She loves to be outside, taking walks, writing and enjoying her garden. She spends a lot of her time at soccer & baseball fields and ringuette arenas cheering on her wonderfully active children.
Our Story
We have been friends and colleagues since we met at Laval Junior Academy about 20 years ago. Our lives look pretty different now than they did when we were eager young teachers but our enthusiasm, work ethic and desire to support the special needs community has not waned. Over the years, our families have grown and our respective careers have taken different paths, however, we always remained connected and determined to help students, school teams and families in need. During our time working as Special Education (Kellie) and Literacy (Monic) consultants for an Anglophone school board, we realized that the level of support families, schools, and students needed exceeded what we were able to provide within the scope and limitations of our roles. Mon COINclusif is born out of our desire to provide the additional support and resources that we felt were missing from our previous roles in the education system. We want to consult with the community, share our knowledge and support families with neurodivergence. This is our inclusive corner where all are welcome and we can provide insight, non-judgmental support, space and understanding whether it’s through coaching, consulting, workshops or any other ways that we can support you, your family and the community at large.
